M. Pierre-Jérôme HENIN

Pierre-Jérôme Henin is the President of Media9, a consultancy specializing in public speaking, media training, negotiation, crisis communication and media relations. Media9 delivers programs in both French and English, in France and abroad, working with senior executives, high-ranking civil servants, students and scholarship recipients. He began his career at Radio France Internationale (1993–1995), coordinating funding and logistics for music and sports events across Africa. At Prisma Media (1998–2001) he held several roles — journalist for Voici and L’Essentiel du Management, assistant to founder and President Axel Ganz, and later Project Director overseeing the launch of new magazines. In Brussels, he went on to serve as spokesperson for European Commissioner Michel Barnier (2001–2004). He was also press and communications adviser to Barnier when he was Minister for European Affairs (1995–1997) and later Foreign Minister (2004–2005), and to Catherine Colonna when she was Minister for European Affairs (2005–2007). In 2007 Henin joined Publicis Consultants as Senior Account Director in charge of institutional communication and public affairs, leading its Brussels office. Following Nicolas Sarkozy’s election, he became Deputy Spokesperson at the French Presidency for international issues, including during France’s Presidency of the EU (2008). A recognized expert on French and international media, he is a regular commentator for France 24 (English-language channel) and BFMBusiness. A former officer in the Alpine Chasseurs and in the Military Intelligence Directorate of the French Armed Forces, he holds degrees from Sciences Po Paris, Paris-Dauphine University and the University of Cambridge. He teaches at Sciences Po Rennes, works in English, and has working knowledge of German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
